Weddings are usually memorable events with so many happy vibes accompanying them. The joy of togetherness, the celebration of love, the beginning of a new family, name it. It is always a special ceremony of matrimony everyone desire. Maybe not as much as Mikayla Worten imagined, but her community people definitely made her wedding even more special that it could be referred to as one of the special days in her life. All it took them was to set things on the high for her with some series of secret invites.
Mikayla was expected to get married to her husband Dakota and everything was perfect on the deal day. They both looked radiant, bright and happy, all set to enjoy their day. The weather maybe also loved their union as it wouldn’t have been more gorgeous. However, a rare gem was missing in attendance, Mikayla’s father. Her father was a marine veteran and probation officer who was reported to have been killed in line of duty a decade ago before the wedding day.
Her father, David was said to have attempted to stop a young man on the crowded city stree- but the suspect in one way or the other manage to escape, sprinted to the Ohio River where he leaped from 10 to 15 foot high bank and jumped in the river. David followed him in and the rest was history. He never resurfaced until his body was recovered a day after.
Mikayla was set to pay homage to her late father on her wedding day. Hence she carried a bouquet wrapped in burlap with her. On the bouquet was the inscription ’walk with me today Daddy’. She was oblivion of the special surprise anybody or group of people have for her. Part of her wedding rite was the traditional father-daughter dance. It is regarded as one of the most touching moment of any wedding. The dance was made extra special for her wedding. At the time of the dance a stream of officers made their way side-by-side of Mikayla, doing their practiced scheming and plotting behind the bride’s back to make the event go on without a hitch.
Mikayla was overwhelmed with their effort. She appreciated what she experienced and busted into tears of happiness as soon as she realized what was going on. She arguably had a memory she would never forget thanks to the officers. Her husband Dakota was equally moved by the display that made him see his wife’s dad died having impact on the lives of others. He was dead but he lived on as the surprise was made for her daughter because of him. David lived a life worth decorating and her daughter was obviously proud of him on her day.
